Social Work
What is Social Work?
Social workers help individuals, families, and groups to improve their wellbeing. They support children and families in connecting to resources and developing strategies that help when the things are stressful or difficult. They work to ensure that any other people involved understand each child and family’s unique strengths and needs.
How might it help?
Our social workers can assist parents/carers in many ways, such as:
- Support to help you better understand your child’s diagnosis
- Parenting support and education (individual or group)
- Supporting you to explain and advocate for your child’s needs,
- Psychosocial assessment and connection to services in your community,
- Practical advice and help with benefits, entitlements and finances,
- Support with managing family difficulties and crises.
