Two members of Royal Far West’s Community Recovery Services team visited Tumbulgum Public School in the Tweed LGA, NSW between Monday 24-28th July 2023 to deliver the following supports for children:
Support for Children
- Two Birdie’s Tree children’s groups were delivered to both classes (Jalum class K-2, Binging class 3-6) at the school.
- One on one support including speech and occupational therapy assessments.
Support for Educators
- In classroom support to both classes and teachers.
- Professional Learning online for all staff outlining the CRP program and the role of the speech pathologist and occupational therapist.
- In person workshop for staff around classroom support strategies following trauma
Support for Parents
- Community and family BBQ breakfast where RFW staff connected with families to discuss the program and individual needs of children.
