Four members of Royal Far West’s Community Recovery Services team visited Bodalla Public School & St Bernards Primary School 27 November – December 1, 2023 to deliver a range of supports:
Support for children:
- 3 Birdie’s Tree interactive shared storybook reading and workshop were delivered across both schools to Year 1 & 2 classes.
- 1 Seasons for Growth program reconnector session delivered at Bodalla Public School.
- Children’s in-class workshop on the Kids Helpline (What is it? How can we use it?) to encourage help seeking behaviours at Bodalla Public School
Support for Educators:
- Educator professional learning workshop on ‘What is Speech Pathology?, Developmental milestones, Reg Flags, and When to refer?’ was delivered and well received by both schools.
- Two occupational therapy classroom observations for a Year 1 class and a Year 5 class at St Bernards Primary School to support teachers with implementing whole class regulation strategies.
Support for Parents:
- Parent information drop-in session was offered to both schools on ‘How to talk with your children about the bushfires?’
