When loss, change or disasters occur, children, families and educators can be impacted in many different ways. Through 1:1, small group, whole class and community wide initiatives, Royal Far West engages with students, parents & carers and school staff to provide meaningful, evidence-informed support.  

During a recent visit to St Joseph’s Primary School in Eugowra, the Royal Far West team facilitated a range of activities including:  

• Storytelling and interactive classroom activities to help children build their understanding of emotions such as anxiety. 
• A workshop supporting parents to understand and respond to their children’s big feelings. 
• One-on-one consultations with educators to build their strategy toolkit to support students engage in learning. 

These initiatives are designed to strengthen resilience, foster connections and promote recovery across the whole school community – just one example of how Royal Far West is helping country kids thrive, no matter the challenges they face.

This initiative is funded under the Disaster Ready Fund – an Australian Government Initiative, with support from both the Australian Government and the NSW Government.
