Four members of Royal Far West’s Community Recovery team visited Batemans Bay Public School and Broulee Public School March 4-8, 2024 delivering a range of supports:

Support for Children:

  • 8 Birdie’s Tree interactive shared storybook readings and workshops at both schools for Kindergarten, Year 1 & 2 classes.
  • Face to face therapy at Batemans Bay Public School for children who usually access individual support via telecare.

Support for Educators:

  • Two occupational therapy classroom observations for Year 1 classes at Broulee Public School, followed by targeted therapist-led Professional Learning for Year 1 teachers to support implementation of whole class regulation strategies.

Support for Parents:

  • A parent information drop-in session was held at Broulee Public School on “How to talk with your children about the bushfires”, providing an opportunity for parents to increase confidence and connect with resources to support their family.
