Royal Far West’s multidisciplinary team recently delivered services across EA Southee Public School and Cootamundra Preschool, providing support to children, families, educators and school staff through a range of targeted wellbeing and resilience building initiatives.
Across the week, our team, Darby (Psychologist), Lisa (Social Worker) and Georgia (Occupational Therapist), worked closely with both education settings to support children’s developmental, learning and wellbeing needs through classroom observations, parent and teacher consultations, and collaborative case discussions.
Families participated in an information session focused on healthy development in the early years, while educators engaged in professional learning exploring regulation-supportive classrooms and practical strategies to support positive student outcomes.
These supports are part of a broader, evidence-informed model designed to strengthen resilience, promote recovery, and reduce the long-term impacts of disasters on children and their communities.

This initiative is proudly funded under the Disaster Ready Fund – An Australian Government Initiative, with support from both the Australian Government and the NSW Government.
