In June 2016, Royal Far West launched the first Community Access Trial in the NSW Nambucca Valley.

The Community Access Trial is an innovative, new project model, which will help more country kids connect to the specialist health services they need and improve child developmental and health outcomes.

The trial is community led and directed, with support from Royal Far West and Bupa. It is delivered through a shared funding model, where all partners contribute to the health and wellbeing of country kids.

Kids who are identified as needing support in areas such as speech and language development, occupational therapy or mental health, may be eligible to participate.

Royal Far West delivers services direct to kids through their local school, using telecare technology.

If successful, the model may be rolled out to other rural and regional communities across Australia.
