Thanks to the funding from our partner Country to Coast PHN, Royal Far West’s (RFW) multidisciplinary team – Annabelle (Occupational Therapist), Bhais (Speech Pathologist), and Danni (Partnerships) – spent a week visiting kindergartens and long daycare centres across Hervey Bay and Bundaberg in Queensland.

During the visit, the team:

• Observed and screened children to identify early therapy needs
• Met with educators and parents to share strategies and resources
• Connected with current telehealth clients for continuity of care

The team was delighted to welcome Branyan Early Learning Centre to the program. It was especially heartening to reconnect with one of the centre’s educators, who had previously partnered with Royal Far West at another location and expressed genuine enthusiasm about working with us again.

And yes, there were animal encounters too! The team met week-old chickens and a blue tongue lizard, adding a bit of fun to the visit for all.

This visit forms part of our early intervention program, proudly funded by Country to Coast PHN, which delivers speech pathology and occupational therapy services aimed at supporting children’s development and empowering both educators and parents.
