New community connections in Nimmitabel NSW

Expanding impact and community connections in Nimmitabel, one of the highest altitude towns in Australia at 1070m above sea level.

Nimmitabel is a small historic village located 37km south of Cooma on the rolling Monaro Plains of NSW. It is one of the highest altitude towns in Australia at 1070m above sea level with distant views of the Snowy Mountains.

Royal Far West partnership with Nimmitabel Public School

The town’s local public school, home to just 11 students at the time, reached out to the Royal Far West Schools & Early Years team seeking allied health supports in 2024.  We were fortunate enough to commence a partnership in Term 4, delivering Psychology supports and providing capacity building for staff through an educator workshop series targeting behaviour and regulation.

Expanding impact in 2025

We are excited to be expanding our impact in 2025 with the introduction of both individual and group Occupational Therapy services to further support the needs of identified students. Staff from another local school will also be invited to participate in an educator workshop which will serve to broaden our presence and connections in the wider community.

Nimmitabel Public School is one of several NSW DOE schools with which RFW is partnering under the NSW Specialist Allied Health Scheme as a pre-approved service provider.
