A night of elegance and community spirit: Trundle Debutante’s Ball hits new highs

In October, nine debutantes were proudly presented at the Trundle debutante ball, hosted by our Trundle Royal Far West Branch. Over 130 guests came together for a night of dancing, fun and tradition, and the community’s generous support helped raise an incredible $4,390 to support country kids!

A huge thank you to the Trundle Branch for organising this special event, and to everyone who attended to celebrate these amazing young women.

Did you know? The tradition of the debutante ball dates all the way back to the 1600s!

In its earliest form, young women of high society or noble birth were formally presented at court to the King and Queen. This marked their introduction to adult society.

Today, this tradition remains strong—especially in regional NSW, Victoria, and QLD. Debutantes are now celebrated at formal balls, where they make their debut into society and dance with their chosen partners.

Stepping up for kids: Former RFW client and the Bathurst community rally to support country children

In November, the father and daughter team, Richard Hailstone and Kelly Lupish, teamed up and ran a barefoot bowls/BBQ fundraiser in Bathurst.

Richard had polio as a child and attended Royal Far West for care and treatment. Richard has wonderful memories of being at RFW in Manly for treatment all those years ago, and together with Kelly, they decided to run the fundraiser in appreciation to give back to RFW.

An incredible sum of $5,816 was raised for RFW. Our deepest thanks to Richard, Kelly, and the Bathurst community who attended, including Bathurst MP Paul Toole (pictured with Richard above), for your generous support for country kids.

Manly’s Bold & Beautiful Swimming Squad raises $10,000 for country kids

Our local Manly swimming group, Bold & Beautiful, held their Christmas party in December with hundreds attending with big smiles. Spirits were high as everyone arrived in their festive Christmas outfits to celebrate community and Christmas.

An incredible total of $10,000 was generously raised to help country kids reach their full potential, with $6,530 of that being from the auction and raffles and $3,470 from Bold & Beautiful themselves.

From all of us here at RFW, our sincere thank you to the Bold & Beautiful Swimming Squad for your continued generous support giving country kids brighter futures!
