A snapshot of the current team working at the Royal Far West School.

Classes are small, well-equipped, highly supportive and great fun, while also acting as a real-world setting for clinicians and educators to make classroom-based observations to assist in assessments and the development of recommendations for families and schools back in rural areas.

Beyond our immediate community in Manly, RFWS collaborates with over 400 partner schools throughout rural and remote regions of NSW. This network allows us to extend our reach and impact, facilitating greater access to specialised educational programmes and support services for children in need. This includes support for Aboriginal students and their parents and carers to link home school personalised learning plans to assessments and recommendations that arise from visits to RFW and RFWS.

Country kids from across Australia come to RFWS and see the beauty of Manly.

The synergy between RFWS and RFW is evident in our shared initiatives and facilities. For instance, the NSW Centre for Effective Reading from Palm Avenue School, housed within our Manly campus, exemplifies our collaborative efforts with NSW Health to improve literacy outcomes statewide. This partnership underscores our commitment to leveraging resources and expertise for the benefit of our students.
