By working in the heart of rural communities, we direct our help where it is most needed. We build relationships with schools, early childhood centres, parents and carers. We work with country children to support their health and wellbeing and unlock their lifelong learning potential.

Thanks to the support of The Manildra Foundation, RFW’s Schools and Early Years Services team members ventured to Central West NSW, visiting Manildra Public School, Trundle Central School, and Middleton Public School. These visits provided a range of otherwise hard-to-access supports for students and staff across the region.

At Trundle Central School, Hayden and Rebecca provided invaluable support through classroo observations, two cognitive assessments, one-on-one speech therapy sessions, and consultations with the K-2 classroom teacher and wellbeing coordinator.

The next stop was at Ardlethan Central School, where our team visited the school for the first time. This involved developing relationships with key school staff and introducing what RFW does to the children and parents.

From there, we ventured to Barellan Central School, where we provided developmental assessments, clinical observations and consultations with educators, parents, and carers.

The impact of this visit has been substantial in these local communities. Not only have we seen improvements in the targeted children’s engagement with learning, but we also witnessed positive effects on other children who are on waiting lists for specialist services.
