Ride For Country Kids
12-14 March 2017
The ride starts in Wagga Wagga on Sunday 12 March 2017, and culminates with a fundraising dinner in Orange on Tuesday 14 March.
The purpose of the Ride is to raise funds to support a greater number of country kids with complex developmental and health needs. Royal Far West’s Paediatric Developmental Program and Telecare for Kids fill a critical gap for rural and remote families and communities that do not have access to the services they desperately need.
(L-R) Royal Far West’s Operations Director Kevin Bone joins tennis great Wally Masur and Tour de France commentator Mike Tomalaris for a practice run.More than 100 keen cyclists are counting down the days until the start of this year’s Ride for Country Kids, Royal Far West’s premier event.
Ambassadors Tour de France commentator Mike Tomalaris and tennis legend Wally Masur are joining the teams of cyclist as they traverse the often gruelling 420km, with Prime7 providing comprehensive media coverage throughout the event.
Gundagai, Cootamundra, Young, Grenfell, Cowra, Canowindra and Cudal will burst with energy when the Ride arrives, with scheduled stops at schools and community groups. As we have seen in
previous years, the success of the Ride depends on the amazingly generous support of local communities, schools, business owners, councils and individuals.
To join the Ride, each rider must fundraise. On-route highlights for the riders include meet-and- greets with local children, thanking local supporters, and chatting with families, who often speak of Royal Far
West’s important impact on their child, their family and their community.
