How did SBP hear about RFW and what inspired you to partner with RFW?
In 1935, Dr Walter Wearn (grandfather of current SBP directors) and his wife Polly Wearn joined The Far West and introduced comprehensive dental service to country children in NSW.
The opportunity to continue this family legacy and to help the charity organisation that provides the great services for vulnerable children and families in country NSW, inspired us to partner with RFW.
RFW and the services it provides aligns closely with SBP’s vision to ‘reimagining a better lifestyle’.
What specific initiatives/activity did you do with RFW and how did it impact your team?
We have held team offsites at RFW’s Centre for Country Kids where we made ‘Fuzzies’, which are colourful tennis ball creations that are used as therapy tools by RFW’s clinicians. This brought the leadership team together, while making the team work together rather than in silos.
Our team also had the opportunity to hear from a RFW parent about the impact the organisation has had on them. This was hugely impactful for our team and helped remind us that as a business we have a greater purpose. We all individually went away with a strong desire to want to help these country families and RFW in any small way. This led to the creation of the RFW-Sydney Business Park Impact Partnership.
We have also been involved in the annual Ride for Country Kids, as both sponsors and participants. It is always an incredible event and one our team looks forward to each year.
Is there any advice you would give to other companies considering
a similar partnership?
We are proud to be in this mutually beneficial partnership with RFW.
It gives us a sense of belonging. Life can be difficult sometimes, but remembering we’re all in this together can help us feel more connected to those around us. Through this partnership, whilst we know we are making a difference to country children with complex needs, our business has benefited immensely. We now have a connected team, full of inspired people, with improved performance resulting in maximising outcomes for our business.
