Yirbamagi Gadhang (To Go To The Ocean) by Skye Burton

"Yirbamagi Gadhang" Wiradjuri for ‘To Go To The Ocean’

Contemporary Wiradjuri Artist Skye Burton, beautifully brings to life the vibrant colours of Royal Far West’s logo, illustrating the majestic migration of Gawura (whales) through Saltwater Country, passing by Royal Far West.

Every year, Gawura journey through these waters to birth and care for their calves before heading back to the colder southern seas. The artwork beautifully portrays Gawura swimming playfully among underwater coral beds and ocean currents, their curious young ones by their side.

This voyage reflects the path of families coming to Royal Far West — travelling across the land to ensure their children reach their full potential, ready for future learning. Just like Gawura, these families find time by the ocean to connect, create memories, and experience the natural beauty around them, forming bonds with the land and sea.
