We are passionate about helping kids in rural and remote areas get the best quality of care possible, and it’s our devoted and engaging team who will ensure we support country kids access the care they need. If you’re passionate about changing lives, we’d love to hear from you.
At Royal Far West, we believe that every child has the right to access the services they need to thrive and grow, no matter where they live.
We believe geography should not be a barrier to services or a cause for disadvantage, yet children living in rural and remote areas of Australia are up to five times as likely as children living in urban areas to have challenges with their developmental health, and greater difficulty accessing the services and support they need.
The team at our base in Manly is 150 strong and growing.
Our people work across a wide range of disciplines including health, research, fundraising and finance in our new state-of-the-art facility, located right on Manly beach. We are all committed to providing multidisciplinary health and wellbeing services for children from rural and remote Australia with developmental, behavioural, learning and mental health difficulties.
Whatever your role at Royal Far West, joining our team means you’ll be helping to change the lives of country kids. View our current vacancies or find out more about working with us below:
Working for an NGO (non-government organisation) like Royal Far West, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows part of your wages to be paid as a reimbursement of your personal expenses and no income tax is payable on this money. In effect, up to $15,900 of your wage is paid tax free.
Our Centre for Country Kids, including our main office hub, is located on Manly beach front, right in the heart of Sydney’s Northern Beaches and the perfect location for those who love to get out in the surf. There’s also a huge range of lunch locations right on your doorstep, so you’ll never be short of options.
We acknowledge the diverse commitments of our employees outside of work. We can offer flexible working arrangements, which allows for team members to meet work obligations whilst being able to pursue lifestyle and/or family commitments.
Since 1924, our mission has been to connect country kids with the care they need. We have a proud legacy of firsts and a pioneering spirit and this is being supported and recognised. In 2019, we were one of 12 global finalists in the Macquarie 50th Anniversary Awards, a $50 million grant from Macquarie Bank. Our CEO, Lindsay Cane AM, also won CEO of the year at the 2019 Third Sector Awards.
Royal Far West offers a friendly, inclusive culture. We offer regular social events, both in-house and in community. We encourage our team to go out and explore all that Manly has to offer, with discounts at selected local shops, gyms and cafes. We also provide showers and towels for those wanting to get in an early morning swim or surf before work.
