Ride for Country Kids: Celebrating 100 Years of Caring for Country Kids

On 15 May in Bourke, the 2025 Ride for Country Kids will officially kick-off, marking the start of a three-day, 380km journey through far west NSW.

This year’s Ride for Country Kids marks a special milestone as Royal Far West celebrates 100 years of improving health and well being outcomes for country children. 100 Riders will embark on the Ride, visiting towns of significance to both RFW’s past and future.

The Ride brings together 100 riders to celebrate 100 years of Royal Far West’s commitment to rural and remote Australia, raising crucial funds to provide essential health services for country kids.
“The Ride is more than a journey – it’s a lifeline for country kids. By raising crucial funds, we ensure that children in rural and remote communities have access to the health services they so urgently need, that they can’t access because of where they live“ said Jacqui Emery, CEO of Royal Far West.

The Ride begins in Bourke, home to the organisation’s first Travelling and Aerial Baby Clinic established in 1931, before continuing to Cobar, the hometown of RFW’s founder, Reverend Stanley Drummond. From there, it heads to Nyngan, where we support children in local schools today and have a longstanding fundraising branch, and culminates in Narromine, where RFW has delivered allied health telehealth services into the local school for over ten years.
