Royal Far West clinicians Ellen and Catherine recently travelled to the NSW South Coast for a three‑day visit to Sussex Inlet Public School, marking the beginning of our new partnership under the NSW Specialist Allied Health Provider Scheme (SAHS).

Across the visit, the team completed comprehensive speech and language assessments with several students. They also met with parents, carers and teachers to build a deeper understanding of each child’s strengths and needs, ensuring families received individualised, practical recommendations to support learning and wellbeing.

Ellen and Catherine spent time with the school’s Psychologist and Wellbeing Nurse, learning more about their roles and how they work with students and families. This collaboration helps ensure our services complement the school’s existing supports and contribute to a strong, multidisciplinary approach.

With assessments now complete, Royal Far West will continue working with Sussex Inlet Public School through weekly telehealth sessions for the remainder of the year. We are also excited to introduce Occupational Therapy into the multidisciplinary team as the partnership grows.

Sussex Inlet Public School is one of several NSW Department of Education schools partnering with Royal Far West as a pre-approved service provider under the SAHS scheme. These partnerships help ensure children in regional and remote communities can access the developmental, behavioural and learning support they need to thrive.
