The visit included stops at Longreach State School, Longreach School of Distance Education, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, Isisford State School, Jundah State School, and Barcaldine State School. Our multidisciplinary team, Jacqui (Psychologist), Emily A (Occupational Therapist), Bhais (Speech Pathologist), and Emily (Operations), met with educators, students, and families to discuss the SDSS program, provide support, and explore new referrals.
It was especially meaningful to visit Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, a long-standing partner of Royal Far West, and to meet new schools we are welcoming to the service. The team also had the opportunity to meet with Councilor Andrew Watts from Longreach Regional Council to discuss the importance of allied health access in regional communities.
Helping Primary Schools and Students Thrive
Through the SDSS Program, RFW’s multidisciplinary team (including Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists) provides tailored support to help schools meet the needs of eligible students.
Services include:
- Individual and small group therapy programs
- Assessments to support goal setting, learning plans, and educational adjustments
- Professional development and advisory support for educators and school staff
