Delivering Specialist Support Across the Forbes Region

Students, families and educators across Forbes Public School, St Laurence's Parish School and Bedgerabong Public School benefited from a week of tailored wellbeing and resilience support

Royal Far West’s multidisciplinary team recently completed a community visit across Forbes Public School, St Laurence’s Parish School and Bedgerabong Public School, providing specialist support to children, families and educators through a range of evidence-informed programs and services.

Across the three schools, the team delivered individual therapy, assessments, observations and consultations to help identify children’s strengths and support their developmental, wellbeing and learning needs.

At Forbes Public School, activities included individual child therapy, assessments, classroom observations, and a parent session focused on supporting children with big feelings and anxiety.

At St Laurence’s Parish School, the team conducted student observations, classroom visits and teacher consultations, and offered a parent workshop focused on understanding and supporting speech and language development. Students also took part in shared book reading and related classroom activities.

At Bedgerabong Public School, families attended a workshop on supporting children’s development, educators participated in professional learning focused on language development in the classroom, and children accessed face-to-face therapy sessions and parent meetings.

These visits reflect Royal Far West’s commitment to ensuring children in regional, rural and disaster-impacted communities can access high-quality developmental and mental health support close to home, while building the confidence and capability of the adults who support them every day.
