When disasters happen, children can be affected in many different ways. That’s why it’s vital they receive the right support — at the right time.  

Royal Far West offers evidence-based support to children, their families, and communities impacted by disasters. Our goal? To strengthen resilience, promote wellbeing, and reduce the risk of long-term adverse effects.  

The Royal Far West team were recently back in Cootamundra visiting EA Southee Public School and Cootamundra Preschool providing support to children, educators, and families. Highlights included:  

• Therapy supports for children, providing an opportunity to meet children in person that have been accessing services via telehealth
• Classroom wellbeing sessions focused on moving through anxious feelings and building their ‘toolbox’ of helpful strategies for the holiday period
• Professional development workshops for educators on supporting students with speech sound and articulation difficulties
• A parent/ carer workshop about responding to children’s big feelings 

Together, we’re helping children and communities recover, reconnect, and build resilience for the future.
