From Forbes to Manly: A Ride That Made a Difference

Four Cyclists, 409 Kilometres, and One Powerful Mission for Country Kids

In April, Stuart Thomas, Luke Randall, Marco Carelli, and Terry Cuskelly cycled more than 400 km over two days from Forbes to Manly, raising an incredible $10,954 for Royal Far West. Stuart’s son, Andrew, joined them for the final leg from Blackheath.

Stuart said, “It was a big day on Friday in lovely weather and a generous tail wind, but the hills made it a 15 hour day. On Saturday, once we climbed out of Lithgow, we flew down the mountains and had a lovely ride along Parramatta River. We then
rode over Gladesville and Anzac bridges with a detour to the Opera House and rolled into Royal Far West in Manly at 5pm having covered 409km and climbed 5134m.

We had a hero’s welcome with the Royal Far West team and Board there to greet us. We had a great tour of headquarters and heard all about the fantastic work they do for rural communities.”

Stuart and team, congratulations on your extraordinary achievement—and our heartfelt thanks for making a difference for country families. Thank you also to FINDEX and the Forbes community for your generous support of Stuart’s fundraiser.
