The Champions come from a variety of backgrounds and personify the connection between hard work, perseverance and success and are great role models for country children. Champion for Country Kids and well known bush poet, Murray Hartin, commenced the official proceedings by reciting the poem he wrote especially for Royal Far West. The Veech family from Carinda whose two children are patients at Royal Far West shared with guests the anxiety they felt and difficulties they experienced when they realised that their children needed specialist medical care. In a poignantly choreographed move the family assumed their positions on stage beside an iconic windmill to form a living representation of the new Royal Far West logo. In just thirty minutes the launch communicated the vital role of Royal Far West and took the organisation from a strong past to a powerful bright future and concluded on a high note with Lee Kernaghan entertaining everyone with his hit song “Boys from the Bush”. |
