How We Do It
Royal Far West is committed to child focused family-centered care. We care for country children and their families and we work in partnership with them to improve the health and well being of the children. We also care for the people who work in and visit our service. We want Royal Far West to be a safe and friendly place. To make this happen there are some rules that everyone has to follow.
While you and your family are using our services, you can expect:
- To have your child's wellbeing held as the primary concern by all Royal Far West staff involved in their care.
- To have your concerns and goals for your child heard and considered, in all aspects of assessment and management.
- To receive the highest possible standard of care.
- That your child and you will be treated with respect and consideration, in a manner that is mindful of your individual culture and other circumstances.
- To be encouraged to ask questions and to receive clear answers about all aspects of Royal Far West services.
- A safe and secure environment.
While you and your family are using our services we expect that you will:
- Let Royal Far West staff know about any special needs for yourself or your child.
- Be an active participant in the assessment and management processes for your child.
- Attend appointments on time, and inform Royal Far West staff promptly should you need to cancel or change any appointments.
- Show consideration and respect for Royal Far West staff, other children and families at all times.
- Let Royal Far West staff know of any concerns you may have regarding our services.
- Supervise your child / children.
- Behave appropriately and refrain from all forms of aggression (physical, verbal, bullying).
- Not smoke on or within a reasonable distance of our property.
- To refrain from consuming alcohol on the premises, or from attending the service after excessive consumption of alcohol.
- Not bring alcohol or illicit drugs into the Royal Far West.
- Not attend Royal Far West whilst under the influence of alcohol or any illicit drug.
- Not swear or use obscene gestures or offensive language.
- Refrain from loud or disruptive behaviour at any time.
- Respect the property of Royal Far West and other families.
- Be mindful of Drummond House ‘quiet time’ (9pm – 7.30am).
- Respect the privacy of other children, families and Royal Far West staff.
