Lindsay Cane has been formally appointed to the role of CEO at Royal Far West, a children’s charity which offers free specialist healthcare to country kids.
Ms Cane hosts a wealth of experience including lengthy and successful postings at major not-for-profits - including Netball Australia, the Asthma Foundation and the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards.
“Royal Far West is such a unique and intriguing organisation. After taking on the post of interim CEO in July I really felt this was an organisation I wanted to be a more permanent part of,” Lindsay said.
“Royal Far West makes sure country kids can get help with their medical, dental and developmental needs and building support for these important services and meeting the growing demand from country families are areas where I’ll be putting a lot of my energy.”
Royal Far West Chairman Richard Barron said he was delighted to appoint Lindsay to the role.
“Royal Far West has been providing healthcare to country kids from its Manly facility for more than 80 years,” Mr Barron said. “This is a particularly important time for Royal Far West as we strengthen our outreach services and look to replace our current buildings with a new centre of medical and learning excellence.
“Having someone like Lindsay available to oversee this change and growth is crucial. She has been a finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards and has a strong and diverse background which spans healthcare, business, nonprofit and government sectors.
“The Board and I are very excited about this appointment.”
