Insurance Advisernet delivers beachside holidays

07-Dec-2011

Young Royal Far West patients and their families will be able to enjoy a supported

holiday by the sea in January thanks to a $5000 donation from brokerage company

Insurance Advisernet Australia.

Royal Far West CEO Lindsay Cane said the donation would help bring country

children and their families to the organisation’s Manly facility as part of the 2012

summer respite program but more support was still needed.

“During the year Royal Far West works hard to make sure country kids are getting the

specialist healthcare they often don’t have near home. But come January it’s a

special time where we invite a few patient’s with special needs to enjoy our unique

location with their families at Manly,” Ms Cane said.

“Respite is about fun and good memories in a safe and supported environment.

These families are usually otherwise unable to enjoy a summer holiday together so it’s

a really special program developed by our staff. We’re looking to raise an extra

$15,000 so about 30 people can enjoy the special experience of the 2012 summer

respite.”

Advisernet has regional offices across NSW in towns such as Taree, Dubbo and

Mudgee. Insurance Advisernet Australia Founder and Chairman Ian Carr said the

company chose different charities to support each year with its fundraising program.

“We were introduced to Royal Far West by bush poet Murray Hartin who is also a

Royal Far West Champion for Country Kids. The work Royal Far West does

delivering vital healthcare to country kids seemed a great initiative for our

organisation to support,” Mr Carr said.

Shannon Osborne, of Dubbo’s Macquarie Insurance Services, a regional office of

Advisernet, said he was delighted to have some of the organisation’s 2011

fundraising helping kids in regional NSW.

“When you work and live around Dubbo or other parts of regional NSW you know

access to specialist healthcare just isn’t the same as for kids in the city. It’s great that

kids can get the help they need at Royal Far West,” Mr Osborne said.
